I have had several people ask me about what tools and resources I use to generate my blogs, and to be honest with you, these questions normally come from people who have not even decided on what their blog’s subject will be.
So I thought it would be helpful to list a few resources I have used from around the web to help these people get closer to achieving your goal (in no particular order):
- Wordpress - The ‘program’ I use!
A free piece of ’software’ that allows people to run effective blogs / websites. It’s easy to use and had a hugely achtive community that can help you at anytime if you start to feel a little lost. It is also easy to expand Wordpress to do whatever you wish with it: run a podcast, create a community, run a shop etc. It is used by both newbies to the experienced, so well worth a look!
- ‘WP Affiliate Pro‘ - Wordpress plug-in
WP Affiliate Pro is a cool plugin that can help people to generate large amounts of income from their site, with little hassle. When you add a single affiliate link to your site, you have to manually open the text file containing an article, edit it, add the HTML code for the link, save it and then finally upload it to your web server or blog. It’ll take you 4-5 minutes if you’re really quick, and likely 10-15 minutes if you are still ‘figuring it out’… no wonder most people give up soon after starting. However…WP Affiliate Pro can instantly add 1,000’s of compelling affiliate links to your blogs without touching a single line of HTML code and without editing your posts. Just imagine how much time this feature alone will save you. A very powerful piece of kit!
- All in One SEO Pack - Wordpress Plugin
Automatically optimizes your wordpress blog for search engines. It sorts out your keywords, titles and everything else you might forget to do (or take ages to do).
- Sign up to Pay-Per-Post.com - Get paid to blog!
This system allows you to generate an income while reviewing other peoples’ sites and products. The allow you to set how much you wish to get paid ‘per post’ and then advertise that to companies. They also allow you to look through a wide selection on advertisers looking for ‘volunteers’ to post about their products.
An easy way to cover the monthly / quarterly hosting bills. Also YOU can decided how many you wish to do.
- Niche Marketing on Crack for Dummies - An eBook
This 100+ page ebook gives you amazing details about how you can setup a blog for a niche market and make it profitable. It has tutorials, practical information with no hype - and the author (Rebecca) treats you like a human being instead of a ‘pupil’.
Niche Marketing is defiantly a good buy for anyone who is starting a blog - or has a blog and needs some new inspiration!
